You’re as smooth as Tennessee whiskey

Sorry for the lapse in posting. I recently finished up with my summer grad school classes and celebrated by traveling and trying to stay as “off the grid” as possible.

For those that follow me on Instagram might have noticed some pictures from Nashville pop up. I spent about a week there and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything from the food to the bourbon was some of the best I have ever had. Luckily my husband had been there before and had some good spots in mind for us to visit, the other suggestions came from some lovely locals we met in town.

Long story short, Nashville is a great place. So great that I could up and move there in a heartbeat. We made some new friends there and everyone was beyond friendly. A lot of people we met were actually from Michigan (go figure).

But first, we stopped in Indianapolis to visit my friends, Jessie and her husband, Jeff. We had a great night and discovered that Indy is the ultimate party city because…YOU CAN DRINK ON THE STREET. Here are some shots from our favorite hangouts on the trip.

Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. Honestly, the best whiskey I have ever had. If you visit Nashville and only visit one distillery, make it this one.

Mas Tacos Por Favor. THE. BEST. TACOS. EVER. I had a spicy carne and a fried avocado taco. Incredible, I was full for days. This was one of the food places on my “food bucket list”. It lived up to the expectations. We also waited 45 minutes for these bad boys, worth it.

Athens Family Restaurant. This place was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. So naturally we had to go…and I wanted grits. This is the Greek Omelet with Grits.

Habanero shrimp tacos with homemade chips from The Hook. They also had buy one get one free pints. So naturally we had to order a Oberon in Nashville.

Nashville definitely has the good eats.
