Have you ever just gazed upon cheese?
Looked deep into its cheesy soul?
It’s quite magical how it comes in many different sizes, shapes, colors, and flavors.
Cheese really is like a work of art, both take time and skill to create. I think it’s quite fitting that we talk about cheese during Grand Rapid’s ArtPrize.
I can’t even begin to describe to you what it was like the first time I had cheese, real cheese. My grandfather had sliced a variety of cheddar and swiss cheeses with a sleeve of crackers. I reached for that cheese and once it connected with my taste buds, the world stopped. There were fireworks of umami, richness, and a slightly salty tang. I was hooked.
It’s those types of found food memories that make way for your favorite foods and in return, you start to share your food and memories with others.
Over the years, I’ve consumed A LOT of cheese. I’ve carefully studied the cheese making process (even making my own), different classes of cheese, and the standards of cheese making. I even obtained a cheese certification from the Wisconsin Cheese Board. Yeah…I’m serious about my cheese.
Needless to say over the years I’ve tried cheese from all over the world, but there is still one brand that has my heart. Sartori Cheese has been a staple in my house for as long as I can remember. It’s perfectly crafted and I absolutely love their attention to flavor development. They’ve won countless awards both locally and internationally. So you know they’re definitely a big deal! I’m very excited to share my three favorite Sartori Cheese flavors with you!
Sartori Cheese has a good habit of pairing perfectly with all of my life events. Cheese deserves to be the spotlight of every occasion. Everything from tailgates to date night to lazy Sunday mornings, Sartori is there.
Sartori Chipotle Bellavitano and Tailgating
This delectable cheese is smoky, spicy, and robust. I love it as a game day cheese because it pairs perfectly with all the delicious grilled meats, tortilla chips, and assorted dried nut mixes. Not to mention, it pairs with almost every variety of beer. My friend group has very diverse beer preferences but this chipotle cheese compliments brown ales, smoked porters, lagers, pale ales, and IPAS (my personal favorite). I highly recommend grating this cheese over your pulled pork sandwiches at your next tailgate! This is one way to earn MVP at your next tailgate.
Sartori Merlot Bellavitano and Date Night
There’s something very desirable about this cheese’s rich, sweet, and fruity flavor profile. It just tastes like relaxation…is that a thing? This is my romantic cheese for date night. My husband loves charcuterie boards because there’s usually a surplus of finger foods to be had. This cheese also pairs perfectly with binge-watching your favorite romantic comedies by yourself or with your girlfriends. I like using classic food pairings for this cheese, such as dried nuts and fruit (especially grapes) along with crostini. I even enjoy this cheese with thinly sliced prosciutto. The sweetness of the cheese helps to mellow out the saltiness of the cured meat. Obviously, I’m pairing this cheese with my favorite glass (or two) of Merlot. It’s heavenly.
Sartori Espresso Bellavitano and Lazy Weekend Mornings
I have been waiting all my life for the cheese that pairs with my morning coffee and pastries. The wait is over. This Sartori Espresso cheese is sweet and creamy with an unexpected hint of roasted espresso. This cheese would be perfect for a brunch party with the girls or at a bridal shower. If you’re doing a little Sunday Funday, try pairing this cheese with fruit beers, barley wines, or a nice crisp chardonnay. When you see me with my espresso cheese, just know I’m in my zone and cannot be bothered.
Cheese truly does fit into every aspect of my life perfectly.
